Qorax and seniors,
I landed in June 2011, and left Canada after two weeks. I returned back to Canada on Sept 2011 and I have settled there. I returned back to Abu Dhabi to clear all mu stuff and make my final move. I have some items that I need to take with me through air cargo as this will save me the cost of buying them again. These are mainly used clothes. Unfortunately I didn't fill the Goods to follow form at the time of landing. Can anyone advice about this case and if there is anyway to go for Exemption from duties and taxes. Please advice ASAP. Many thanks friends.

As you did not lived in Canada yet for settlement, you may present B4 form to be stamped when you arrive to settle.

As per :
Canada Boarder Srvice Agency :SETTLERS' EFFECTS TARIFF ITEM NO. 9807.00.00

For the purpose of tariff item No. 9807.00.00 of the Schedule to the Customs Tariff, settlers mean all individuals who enter Canada with the intention of establishing for the first time a residence for a period of not less than 12 months.[/b]

Therefore, when you arrive from Abu Dhabi, you should submit your list of goods. Show the details of shipment - the Air way bill ( a copy will do ) to CBSA if asked.

Regarding information about the B4 forms for people settling in Canada

Memorandum D2-2-1, Settlers' Effects - Tariff Item No. 9807.00.00
look at the  Web site at:
