Hey Guys,

I should have my Resident Visa by the April 22, 2011.  I'm planning on landing after my daughter's school year ends in June, but want to ship my belongings now using a moving company.  Does anyone know if I can send my belongings before landing using a moving company?  Will I be charged duties if I am not there in person, and if I don't land until later?

I'm annoyed because the Consulate's office doesn't respond to telephone calls (I should be used to that).

I'm planning on landing in Vancouver's airport on a late flight arriving around 9:30/10:00PM.  Is the office open for me to land that late?  Does anyone know?

Thanks in advance!!

1.  If you ship your goods in advance of your "landing" they will most likely be held in the bonded warehouse until you "land" and produce your goods to follow list, so you will be paying storage.
2.  Airports always have Immigration on site, when there are International flights arriving.

Thanks PMM.

Can I land and return to the US for a 2 month visit?

I need my belongings to go now and will follow two months later after my daughter's school year is up.  I have been told by the moving company that I have to be there when my goods are received by customs.
