Hi everybody,

when I was filling my immigration forms, several questions arouse.

1. In Schedule A, Background declaration: My father and mother were born in USSR times (and how we all know this country does not exist anymore). Shell I write then USSR as a country of birth for them or recent states on which territory they were born e.g. Ukraine, Russia ?

2. In the Additional family information form Section A: Is one supposed to fill lines for relatives that passed away?

3. Generic application form for Canada , personal details filed 2 (other names used): does other spelling (i.e. Latin transcription) of a name considered a different name e.g. since some time a couple of letters in Latin transcription of my name changed from c to k and from i to y?

Hope this can also help others

Cheers
Mike

Привет, Майк!
Короче, очень просто:
1. Place of birth - you must indicate today's name of that place. So, for example, Kiev, Ukraine. It actually crack me up when I see in Russian passport "place of birth - USSR". It's hard to believe, but it's true.
2. For departed relatives - in address filed you should write "deceased"
3. Yes, you can mention different spellings too. In my case I wrote "Slava" since in some of the reference letters those who wrote them new me as Slava, and not by my full name Xxxxxslav.
