Hi all,

If everything goes well, I will be able to finally marry my boyfriend and start his paperwork for him to come to Canada. We are going to settle in BC where I live, but starting September I might be attending school in Ontario for a 7 month course. If he were able to come I assume it would be during that time I am in Ontario. Would it be a problem for him to live and work in Ontario for a few months with me at the beginning of his time in Canada? I was planning to put on his application that we would live in BC.  Thanks!

If he has his PR already at that point, it will be no problem for him to work in any province but if he doesn't have his PR yet, depending on if he needs/gets a visit visa or not, he may or may not be able to visit you.  As a visitor, he would not be allowed to work.

I'm not asking about when he visits, he is unable to due to no visa.
When he gets his papers to join me, as my husband in Canada, that's what I am wondering about.

When he gets his PR visa and lands as a PR in Canada, he can land in any province and he can apply for a SIN and work anywhere that will give him a job.  No other permits needed.
