One has to  work to earn to support himself.
The Canadian Govt provided :
1.  Free health care.
2.  Free education for kids of immigrants.
3.. Unemployment benifits.( on loosing a job in Canada)
4.  Child Tax Benifit.
5.  CIC Run settlement services. etc
