Its a little frustrating to see that the people that applied in September of 2010 were getting first stage approval around 30 days or sometimes even less, and now we are stuck with more than 2 months. I know this is a sensitive issue, but I am SURE this is due to the now majority conservative government. They keep pushing aside all family immigration. As much as I can hope they would put extra staff to deal with backlog, that is not in the governments plans... Let's just hope that the times doesn't continue to increase!

here is my piece on what u wrote and what i underline in bold Personally i vote conservatives and will continue to do so there are other threads about how the conservatives government sucks yada yada yada but in my opinion waiting sucks but I do not blame the government and its just frustrating to see it being called the conservative government fault if the liberals were still in power and this happened would this be the same story immigration is a small part of the government role so again in my opionion this constant complain about the conservative government will not go nowhere they are in power for the next 4 years so we cant change that lets just at least try and keep politics out of it we all have different political views so lets just keep this particular thread politics free as brining politics into only makes things ugly

The whole immigration thing has been nothing but frustration for me since I arrived in Canada anywhere from not having a health card while working and paying taxes to not being able to work at all while waiting for this pr:( I don't even want to mention about the costs!

Politics is life. Liberals were immigration friendly (so is NDP), and Liberals had balanced books, they actually got rid of deficits. Enough said. I am just glad that our immigration case is at the beginning of those 4 years....because family immigration will be even more of a nightmare 4 years down the road. I can bet on it! Cheers!

Let's agree to disagree because what the Liberals did immigration aside i do not agree with and because immigration is not my whole life I can look at it from another angle I miss my husband but I by no means gonna vote in a government that lets juvenile get away with killing people and not get the book thrown at them again immigration aside i like our current government balance book is great when we had a functioning economy but again let's agree to disagree you like Liberals and NDP I like Conservatives doesn't make either of us bad just that we chose different political party

If simple sponsorship approval takes this long, then what's going to happen with the app getting to VO? I just feel sorry for anyone whose normal life had been affected by the immigration process.

Yea especially offices with the crazy wait time BUT hope is not lost Signapore which have a posted 22 months time frame have approved people in 5 months so I just feel we should all remain optimistic about our files I really wish i was rich I would move back during this process and relax in the nice warm sun

I wish I was born earlier! I would have immigrated to Canada 10-20 years ago when things were more simple than now.
