I just saw that too on the website - OMG! Instead of decreasing it's going up instead?! Thanks, Mr. Harper for uniting families so quickly!

hear hear! Totally agree! Smiley

I'm so sad about this increase to 66 days!!!

I hope this has nothing to do with Harper's cut backs and his desires to reform the immigration programs. Clearly his party does NOT favour family reunification, and the worse is that they now have majority so they can do what they want... sigh***

Sorry about the rant, but it's really frustrating!  Angry

Anyway, I hope the processing times stays or goes down, and I hope that everyone here has positive news soon!

Dont worry about the rant! I am also holding myself back! Family reunification, my eye!!! I even went to see my MP (conservative) and they said the same bull*censored word*...summer workload was increased...blah blah...blah...what a lie, I am willing to bet that this is a new majority unwritten policy about family reunification! All factors indicates to that, less applications from what I have seen and heard...There is no reason for this backlog.

The best is still to find something else to do and not obsess about the time of the process...Love in the end will still win!

I'm worried that with Jack Layton passing away (let him RIP) there is no good opposition to conservatives now. It seems that each year processing times are only increasing rather than decreasing.

so september won't be my month after all as i was about to send it off and I go to add my police certificate only to find its 3 months old on september 16th and apparently they can't be more than 3 months when you send it. absolutely gutted! ahh well now have to send application back to england and wait for it to get back to canada so hopefully october will be my lucky month Sad good luck to the rest of you!

Hi I heard you can send the package in for sponsorship approval without the police clearance certificate. Then once the sponsorer gets approved, the file will be transferred and in a few weeks you will receive a file number. You can then send the police clearance certificates using this file number (so that the office can match up the missing documents with the original package). Please ask an immigration lawyer or someone else for advice.

I feel the same way! I loved Jack Layton, he was a leader that deeply cared about the people of this country and he was trying to fight for better immigration policies that favoured family reunification.

Now the conservatives are on a rampage, and it's insane how they are spending taxpayers money. I read that there have been some scandals where even minister Peter Mckay was caught using government vehicles for personal trips, and another military guy was caught to have used private planes at our expense to go meet his family in the caribbean...
I love Canada, but this government is making some things very wrong.

I am certain love will prevail, but must they make it so damn difficult and painful???

(Sorry to interrupt the flow of conversation - I agree... the ever lengthening of processing time totally sucks and is unfair to genuine families who are trying to reunite - but please allow me to share my bit of good news  Smiley )

Hooray!! My marriage certificate is finally here. Let's see if I can get my hubby to send this application out tomorrow! One small step, but it lifts my spirits  Grin
