My husband landed today, and everything went splendid. Thankfully I was with him to enjoy the process with him. The official was nice, even joked a little bit and gave us some important information to keep in mind for the future.
Thanks for all your words of wisdom, and of course your help.
Best of luck in your Journey!
What wonderful news Congratulations, I plan to be with my hubby as he comes as well . whenever that may be I hope soon. Good luck!!

Well obviously my wife is not be responsible she lost the COPR already and now don't know what to do OMG she is so irresponsible. So does that mean she can't come here now and we have to do it all over again or what can we do about her losing her COPR

Ya and it says that the wait time for processing is 2-6 months but we already booked her plane flight, so if she has to wait more then 2 months then we lost the money now for her plane ticket

OH Dear! I don't know what else to say. perhaps a senior member on here would know more. I'm sorry, I hope by some miracle your wife finds it soon. Will keep fingers crossed for you.

Hi! I know I'm a bit late but i still want to join this group. CIC received my application last Sept 27, 2011. Requested for my passport on Jan 4, 2012. But still no news from them until now. My ECAS still says "Application Received".

We are in process in the detroit office. they are doing medicals now and we wait. Wait and wait somemore.. ECAS my understanding is its not always updated with each change, so they could actually be processing and are farther along but its not on your ECAS yet. GL. Fingers crossed for our speedy processing.

But i still hope to have at least an idea when it will arrive because we'll be celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary this June.

PPR request since Jan? Now it's Apr and they haven't returned your document yet? Seems to be a little bit too long. What time frame did they promise to return your document? You may want to check with the VO. Hope you get your document back soon! Thanks! Visa office's average processing time says 9 months. My application is on its 7th month now. Their site also says that they will not answer inquiries if your application still falls within the normal processing period. But i will still send them an email just to make sure. Thanks GOGOGO!

Oh yes Jdms, I agree with GOGOGO, that is a long time to be waiting, usually you dont get a PPR request until close to finishing up your application, and most ppl from what I've read are asked for passport and have it and their docs returnd within 2 - 4 wks. .. So you may want to check into it. I'd say you would have a valid reason for sending case specific email to your VO to enquire. Good luck.

Which VO are you going through? Some VOs request passport at the beginning of the process and hold it for the entire time (though I don't quite understand why they need to do that). Your VO may be one of those. Visa office's average processing time says 9 months. My application is on its 7th month now. Their site also says that they will not answer inquiries if your application still falls within the normal processing period. But i will still send them an email just to make sure. Thanks GOGOGO!

Maybe they just want to make sure you're really 'outside' of Canada when you apply outland? On the plus side, you can do some work/study if you choose to while waiting out there, much better than those who applied inland and can do nothing until stage 1 approval which takes about 11 months. Hang in there and good luck!
