Hi guys,

My E-CAS status got updated from "Application Received" to "In Process" today. Could someone please update the following details in the spreadsheet for me:

AOR from Buffalo - 01/09/2012 (Jan. 9th 2012)
E-CAS changed to In Process - 03/02/2012 (Mar. 2nd 2012)

When I click on "In Process", however, I don't see any new messages than what I was seeing before. Not sure what that means.

Thanks,
ManyaPR

I am really depressed....

Our visa office have requested some additional documents, we are preparing them but 1 of the requests is a police certificate from the home country and Libya (because he lived there for several years).

My husband contacted Libya consular services and they said that we no more issue such certificates in here after the conditions going on in their country..

Regarding the certificate from home country, it may take longer period than what they have given us (45 days) because my husband sent the documents but it is being processed in there by one of his relatives and the processing is a bit slow there...

Don't know what to do because the embassy stated in the email if there is any delay (more than 45 days) 'You must submit the document(s) and/or information within (45) days from the date of this request otherwise it will cause delays in the processing or it could result in the refusal of your application'

Write an email to the embassy and ask for an extension.

A new message now shows up when I click on the "In Process" status:

"We started processing your application on XYZ date."

It will be great if someone can update the spreadsheet with my details. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply tim maguire! No one from the sept. group has been finalized yet? OH NO! I could have sworn that I have seen some from Oct/Nov finalized. I keep hoping to hear some good news soon but it just seems like it's a hopeless wait. Well, I hope our group starts hearing something! Likewise, who knows....maybe we'll be surprised one of these days soon! Please keep me posted on your situation and I'll do the same with mine. Here's hoping for all of us Septemberarians Smiley

Buffalo is slower than most, so we have to watch people with applications at other processing centers get approved first. It's a bummer. My wife (my sponsor) is ready to pack up and head to Toronto today, but I don't see how I can pursue employment when I'm not yet eligible to work. What if I got an offer but couldn't accept it because I still hadn't gotten my visa? Probably be my dream job, too.

Good luck to you.

We are so excited!

The letter was issued on February 15, and online it says that they started processing on February 9, so not bad at all!

Thanks for everyones help, support and kind words throughout this difficult process. Good luck to all!

Hi All, i have sponsored my wife from Srilanka and got refused because she made an error on the form to a question where it asked if she had previously applied for a visitor/temp visa and she mistakenly marked this question "NO" where she did apply for a visitor visa right after our marriage and got refused.  Now i am feeling lost! Does anyone know how an appealing process works? or how long it takes for a ADR hearing after an appeal? if you could please share this that would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you all!

I hope to send mine off sept 15 getting married sept 4 so will see if i get back marriage certificate

Hello Kedeisha,
i have a similar situation as yours.  My wife's sponsorship is refused and now i am going to appeal. Please share your experience with me on this.  Did you go through a lawyer? how much does it cost to appeal? and how long did it take fully from the day you appeal to get a decision or the visa? If you could please share your expereience that would be appreciated.  Thank you

I sent my application in August but they started processing it in September... should I count the time of my process since August or September? I sent it INLAND. I know, not very smart as OUTLAND is faster... but oh well...

I received my FBI clearance today, last requirement!! Grin I'm driving down to our embassy tomorrow to bring this directly to their doorstep. I have a gut feeling visa will be coming soon, I've been in process since december 28.

Fingers crossed! Grin
