Silly Question perhapss but I am wondering after the application arrives at CPC-M, do we get a formal notification from them saying they received the application? if so, how many days after they've received the application do they acknowledge its receipt?

yes cbrasil supposedly mine it was arrived around aug.31 but they had checked-up thing and signature to the person accepted our papers in CIC so its actually finished around sept. 1..i've seen the receipt from canada poste to my hubby dropbox..so it takes for me 4 days that really on their hands..

no they dont, the first you hear from them is to say if you got your sponsorship approval, sucks really

Finally, my marriage certificate has been mailed to me!! Woo hoo! That really took a super duper long time -- 10 weeks just to be processed!! I'm going to obsessively check my mail now, and then my application is ready to go!

Question: we're only including a copy of the marriage certificate, right? (I thought I knew the answer to this question, but now i'm not sure anymore.. Lots of self-doubt  )

You only need to submit a photocopy (see the document checklist) and don't worry, the self doubts are totally understandable. We triple checked everything before, and I'm still doubting some steps.

I believe what your saying, but to me it doesnt make sense that if you filled in the forms BEFORE the new forms came out,they would then send the application back for not using them. We sent them off and they got there after the date that they said that we had to use the new ones, it doesnt make sense that they would then make us redo the forms when the old forms are still being accepted until march 31st 2012.
It says "As of July 18, 2011, applicants for Permanent Residence are asked to complete the new Generic Application Form for Canada " Not you "have" to use the new forms, you couldn't get the old forms as of July 18th admittedly, but it doesnt make sense to not accept the old forms when they say they still are.
If that was the case they should have put a notice on the website saying at least 2 months before the change over stating that the new forms are now on the website to use and as of july 18th the old forms will not be accepted.
that then would make sense that they would return anyones application for not using the right forms.

no body called me but icalled them bcz idid that to be sure that idont miss anything and u may need to know that when they requesting anything from u you may with another group of application and this mean more delay  and this what they said in the guide of immigration if you read 

hey u dont have to take this in peron bcz if u do not think im right then my talking is not for only you do what ever you want its not even my bisnuess even if your application take milion years or one weak it wont give me a nothing

one more thing you must know when they said the new forms and there new ones they didnt said that in july 18 .2011 noooo they said that almost one month early and they alarm poeple in cic.com so everybody will be ready  for that
and for example look for old forms still excepted till march 2012
so do u still think that they told poeple about new forms and new system in july 18 .2011 ?

 for us we used the new generic form.. i've read one of the forum from philippines the cic wanted them to fill out the new form eventhough they had already passed the old form..only they did just foloow instruction from them..for avoid delayed it better used the new form.. but the disadvantage for that i signed up the last page which i dated.. but we found out theres an error after my papers was already on my hubby's hands on what we inputted so if u make changes on that, theres another date reflect from barcode so it not conside from each other.. from the date u have signature
