theprofessorswife, you are going to notice different things happening with this thread as outland works very very differently from inland. You can join us anytime you want in the Inland 2011 thread.

Most of the people from March 2011 have been approved and my husband is looking at being approved in February. You are looking at next September for 1st stage approval right now. Just sit back and try not to think about it. For me it has been 6 months now and sometimes the time goes by fast and sometimes it goes by slow.

thank you very much I think I'll pop in over there as well! September next year eek! that's quite some time...
My family is going through a rough time in the States, my eldest sister is very ill and my middle sister (and brother-in-law) are taking care of her at the moment. However, if things do not change for the better quickly I may have to get a job to help pay for her medical bills (as we are not able to help financially with one income at the moment) - of course this would mean I would have to fly back to the states and abandon my application here loose the money we spent on it and I guess apply again? While we all hope and pray it does not come to that it just might. I am looking for jobs I can do online from the States (that aren't scams...) as I cannot work in Canada and my first stage of approval is looking at a year or so...
To transparent with you all, I am devastated. I don't feel as if I have any options right now, I want to be supportive of my family and do whatever I can to make sure my sister is able to keep getting treatment. I would offer for her to come live with us, but we can't afford it- and I don't really think Canada or the CIC would appreciate that... At the same time I feel torn because I do not want to leave my husband - especially since we are not guaranteed I will be able to come back afterwards and it may cause all sorts of problems with immigration.
I've looked around the forums and from what I can gather there isn't anything I can do. Leaving risks it all, and I really hope it doesn't come down to that, but there may not be another option soon.
Does anyone know if there is someone I can talk to about any other options that may be available or have any suggestions? Maybe I can get them to pull my application out of line or something so I wont jeopardize submitting it again? I am plain out of ideas. . .

well the GOOD news is you dont have to abandon your application since you are from USA if you leave and cannot return then thats a problem but if push come to shove just go back home and "secretly" work for cash i guess and then just return here if u need to

What do you mean I wont have to abandon the app since I'm from the States? If I am unable to get in the country they'll through out the application and deem it abandoned, right?
I'm sure I wont have to 'secretly' work for cash in the states... I can get a legitimate job there - just because I'm not allowed to work in Canada doesn't mean I wont be able to work in the USA. But I guess if I do get a job in the states I'll have to report it to the CIC and then they'll be aware that I've left the country and will credit the app abandoned... or am I wrong?

thats why i said secretly as you are to remain in Canada and your application is null and void if for some reason you are not allowed entry into Canada

Oh, well I wont do that, geeze. If they find out they have been lied to about *anything* I am sure they will through the book at whoever-it-is. And I certainly don't want it to be me. I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed another solution can be found and if not, I'll call the CIC or send them a letter asking them to pull my application and explain the reason, and hopefully try to apply again once this is all taken care of...ugh...I just hope and pray it wont come to that.
Thanks anyways Kedeisha   Roll Eyes

I just have a question why you didn't apply outland to Buffalo? You would have been able to travel in and out without worrying of your app to be cancelled.

The circumstances arose on Sunday, I don't want to get into the details of it as I am quite infuriated over what happened. It was a stable situation previously. No one, including myself thought my presence would be required or necessary in this fashion. My leaving to go back to the USA would be the absolute last resort- if all other methods fail, either way I must be prepared for the worst and hope for the best.

I wish you applied outland to Buffalo, since you're from the States Sad

theprof, I don't understand how come you did not apply outland? Quince was right when they said that you can come and go as you please. Plus, you may land much faster. I didn't apply outland because the times for my husband were the same timeline as inland.
