I have been caring for my extremley ill mother for 5 months last year and then had to return again urgently Nov 28th 2007. and been here again since then!   I have had to stay due to her serious condition. My PR Card expires Sept 2008. I plan on returning late Oct 2008.  Can i enter with this card having expired?  My nearest Consulate office is in Sydney Australia. I am married to a Canadian. What would i be best to do in view of my situation. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thankyou   ... Judith

You need to apply for a PR travel document.  Go to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/faq/pr-card/pr-card-faq11.asp and follow the link at the bottom for application form

Does this application have to be for a very specific date, because of my mothers health still things are uncertain, or is there leniency there? eg if i booked for Nov 5th would the travel have to be that date? Thanks a million

The application form does ask you when do you intend to return to Canada but I don't know how specific that date is.  I would assume they give you a time period you can return but you should call the canadian embassy and ask if they know or ask somebody in Canada to call the call centre for you and ask them.
