Hi,
Well I sent my application to Mississauga last month and I still didn't get anything from them.
All I know is that fed ex delivered it but I didn't receive any confirmation from them.
Should I be worried?
I'm applying outland and currently living outside Canada

Thanks!

Not to be worried at all. The waiting time for approval is about 68 days.

You will not hear a thing until the sponsorship is approved or denied...

It probably means they received slightly fewer applications and can therefore get to them somewhat faster.

I see... so they don't send a return receipt or anything like that?
just to tell us that they did receive our paperwork and that we will get an answer from them in 68 days?

They won't send anything like an acknowledgement of receipt, no.

If you sent your package by courier you will be able to track it and find out when it arrived that way. But CIC won't let you know anything until about 68 days have passed.

Nope - no return receipt. That's why many use a courier to deliver the package.

You literally won't hear anything until Mississauga has finished processing the application in about 68 days.

Even without a courier, you can use the tracking number on your receipt to confirm delivery if you send it Canada Post Xpesspost or Priority.

Just a quick heads up:

I got an email from CIC Mississauga, they confirmed that they received my file last October and gave me a ID number as well,

Took about 2 months, I guess they are reviewing my file at this time?

Once again, approx. 2 months is now (unforch) the processing length for step one. You should make sure you get the sponsorship approval letter from them before they send it to your VO.
