Dear MIS you are definitely wrong. please read from the link which you posted.

If you have some proficiency in both English and French, decide which language you are more comfortable using. This is your first official language. The other is your second official language.

You must prove the level of language proficiency you claim on your application.

To do this, you must take a language test from an agency designated by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) before starting the immigration process.

I second this, when calculating you will use English your first language and can claim maximum of 16 and if you have proficiency in French you can then use french as your second language and can claim maximim of 8 points.

Cheers

no dude by eligibility i mean job duties falling under shortlisted NOCs.

i believe now after June 26 rules they calculate points at first level but before that no points were calculated at first stage and they were calculated in the second stage when you submit your ielts and other documents.

Hi Mis,

For IELTS its correct , you are suppose to write "URDU" as your first language, its only when you calculate your points for immigration you use English and French only and you need to put one of them as your first language. No need to change your IELTS result.

for all other purposes urdu/punjabi is your first/native language, and CIC will assign automatically 16 points for english, since you don't have/claimed proficiency in their other official language

No, that is not correct. They were calculating 67 points all the time before sending AOR. otherwise they will refund the fee and return the application

And you are very wrong about the AORs as well.

you are saying first AOR is just the confirmation of your eligibility whereas second AOR is just the acknowledgment of your complete documents.

what do you really mean by eligibility Huh? eligibility is 67 points. though that is correct that even after the first AOR visa officer can reject the application, if you don't have the supporting evidence for your claimed points. One will never get first AOR if one's marks are less than 67 in simple calculations.

If you don't know something, you should not persist so much on that thing. Rather you should better leave it for senior members.

Thanks & Regards

Completely agree with farhaniqbal.....all info provided by MIS is totally wrong. I am really sorry to say this but whoever reading MIS posts, plz ignore that and check with other forums and senior members...

what u mean to claim 16 point and 8 points  etc . its very simple

its not up to applicant to claim 16 or 8 points in English or French   its totally depends on ur ilets score
test result how much  point u can get in any language  or
visa officer assessment  that how much he think u can get  acording to ur education  experience english enviroment etc

max u can get 16  in english  not because ur first language is english  still u need test result to get that much point . even  being born in canada or america u can not claim 16 points  its up to visa officer  ur education level
