I did the medicals in August 2009. Now about 14 months have passed without receiving any response from them after I emailed them they replied that my case is under background check and I needn't to email them until they communicate with me.
Is this normal? Please advise.

Hi swer,

I understand your frustration, i was under the same situation BG checks after medicals, but it was for 4 months only. How many countries have you lived in ?

By the way, the following memeber: (  Maple ) has gone through the same like you, 14 months after medicals waiting for BG checks results, his visa office was Buffalo, and he was residing in Canada.

Have a look at his profile, posts, and contact him if you feel like it:

Wish you the best of luck, and hope to get your process done soon.

Thank you friend for your answer. I lived in 4 countries for a long period of time, three of them after age 18. Could this be the reason?

My visa office is London, I paid the landing fees as well. If there is a problem, shouldn't they inform us?

It could be the reason because in this stage "BG check", the speed of the processing of your application depends on the time taken by the other parties "Countries" to respond to the background check request sent by the Canadian authorities.

There should be no problem, do not worry, they just take their time, and as soon as they get the results, they will proceed to the next step to finalize your application.

Good luck.
