Dear Seniors out there,
I guess am in trouble!
I have my visa office in Paris.
As requested, I paid Rprf today by bank transfer in Canadian dollars.
I think I should have done it in euros.
What do I do now? Plzzzz help..
Thanx in advance

Hi,
Thanks for the advice.
We have found out that the website for France indicates that 360 Euros has to be paid to be equivalent of 980 CAD. This was not mentioned in our letter from Paris and that meant we had sent lesser amount when converted in Euros as it was a European bank. Besides, our bank informed that according to the new rule, commission will be deducted from both parties which cannot be avoided. This would mean that we will not be sure whether we have sent the exact amount or not. So to avoid all these problems, and to prevent our fees from returning, we have cancelled the transfer.
It appears that it is better to pay by a certified cheque or draft in Europe.
Now the problem is that we are not sure whether we should make the cheque payable to canadian embassy or receiver general for Canada?
The website for France Says..
By bank draft or certified cheque drawn on a Canadian bank and made out to the Canadian Embassy. Cheques issued in Canadian dollars by a bank located outside of Canada must clearly indicate the bank correspondent's complete address and account number in Canada, this being the establishment through which the cheque may be cashed in Canada.
I have replied in detail in the thread ''Anybody going through visa office Paris,France"
Regards
