I am currently waiting for my mr and i have a small question.

I have lived in Canada for 4 years, is this going to delay my MR since they have to do background checks, as they dont ask for PCC for canada. How much time could this add to my mr request if it does?

Yes. It will take time for background checks in canada.
But not very long.

If you were only lived in Canada other than your home country, the BC should not take much time like other countries. Cannot decide that the delay for MR is only due to this reason.
