From my research on this Forum it is advisable to send in all sections of the Application forms even if they don't apply, is that correct? So, in the case of IMM5409 Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union, if my husband and I are legally married should I simply write Not Applicable in the first blank slot which is 'Country' or do I send in IMM 5409 with absolutely nothing filled in, simply an unfilled sheet?

The Document Checklist (IMM 5491 #6) states that you need:
"Original of completed Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union (IMM 5409), if you have a co-signer and he or she is your common-law partner."
So you only need to send the Declaration of Common-Law Union if the above statement is true.

On Schedule 1 Background Declaration Questions 13 and 14 regarding Military Service and Government Positions do I fill in NONE in every single slot?

I don't think it's important what you fill in as long as you don't leave anything empty. I just drew lines across all non-applicable text-boxes. In any case, I don't think they'd deny your application just because you wrote too many NONE, so go nuts! Smiley

Well, it may be a little important what you fill in ;o) ...  if it doesn't apply to you, put none, or not applicable through the answer section to which you are referring.

as they say, it's better to be safe than sorry, - try to fill all - where it's not applicable, say it's n/a, where never happened say simply none, or no
