I am an orchestral conductor and I want to make myself eligible for Canadian job opportunities in conducting.  Most jobs require residency and I would like to gain this.  How can I aggressively move towards residency before receiving employment?  I am constantly asked if I am eligible to work in Canada and I always reply yes.  I have not no convictions of any sort and I would like to explore the option of immigration, but in the mean time, I do not want to be precluded from working in Canada and obtaining a job in Canada as a conductor.  I am a US citizen and I am finishing my master's degree this semester here in US.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you  Smiley
