My niece just arrived to Quebec and she is pregnant for 5months now. She applied to Canada independently and she will deliver her baby and settle here. She is planning to sponsor her fiancee i am just wondering about a couple of things:
1) How long will the sponsorship take?
2) She is new here, pregnant and no job as of yet.
3) The baby will be born 1st week of June, is there any way of the fiancee coming here earlier? Or she need to be working to sponsor him.

please advise.
thanking you in advance.

Hello,

In terms of how long it will take, the CIC website has application processing time (its on the right side of the main CIC page), check the time based on the location the husband is coming from and this will give you the current time it takes.

To sponsor her husband, she will most likely need a job (unless she is on maternity leave).

Hope this helps.
