Passport and PR card for Citizenship Application

Having a valid PR card upon application isn't necessary. I became Canadian on an expired PR card. But,I've always had a valid passport because it's a form of ID for me.

    Kid 8, school record needed?

I submitted my son's,as well as my daughter's (she's Canadian) report cards of all inclusive years. I gave everything, documents wise, they've asked for that is applicable to me. I was apprehensive about sending just the report cards, and had even a back up plan of asking for other school records...

    Citizen. Test.

    1. Do as most of us did....read the Discover Canada study guide 3-4 times.....believe me on your 3rd reread, the dates would be easy to remember. You can also do the online practice tests. Some of the questions there comes close to the real questions on the real test. 2. Yes,it's easy. Multiple...

    Citizenship requirements

Why not. As long as you're sure that you have the 1460 days they require. Some only suggest to give it at least a week to a month buffer to ensure that your application won't be returned for lack of physical presence days. Most applicants have taken vacations/trips abroad,so buffer days are...

PR card renewal or staright to citizenship

I applied, took test, had my oath,...in short I became Canadian even with an expired PR card. Having an expired PR card doesn't mean you've lost your status, you're still a PR even with your expired card. As long as you don't intend on leaving Canada (since you'll need it to enter the country...

how long does it take to get Canadian passport after applying for it

Mine took 10 business days...There's a Passport Canada in our city, I applied in person and they called me when it was ready for pick up. Passport Canada might have given you an estimate on how long it will take to process then add the mailing time.

    How long is the oath?

The oath letter often states an hour before the actual oath ceremony.....as the IRCC officers still need to check you in. Mine stated 9:30 am but the ceremony was at 10:30. Took them an hour to check everyone's letter, take ( PR cards ) and for applicants to sign needed documents.

Applied for citizenship but Residency about to expire. What should I do?

They are all right. Your PR status doesn't expire even if your PR card does. I applied, took my test and had my oath all on an expired PR card. No problem at all,I didn't encounter any hassle from the officers when I mentioned (at the test and interview) that my PR card is expired. I didn't even...

    Test → DM → Oath ?

Mine changed to DM 3 days after my test,I got so excited....but,the officer did say 2-4 months for my oath letter, she was right....took 2 months for my oath invite. It is different from one office to another. It all depends on the applicant volume, the diligence of officers handling your papers...

Can I apply for Citizenship even if my PR card may expire in that time

Same here, that's what the IRCC call agent told me. That it's fine to apply with an expired PR card, just as long as you don't leave Canada. You'll need a PR card to enter Canada,if you plan to travel abroad.
