    Residency obligation for step child

Hmm interesting. Thanks. I sponsored both. So, she doesn't satisfy her RO by living with me abroad. Only her mother.

    Residency obligation for step child

My wife and stepdaughter live with me outside of Canada. I am a Canadian citizen and they are both PRs. Does my stepdaughter satisfy her RO by living with me? Note, I have not adopted her.

    Waiting for PR CARD - 2015 / 2016

Update: So CIC sent us an email after my enquiry (brother in law helped us restore her email). "The photograph does not meet the required specifications. It is therefore impossible to produce the card until you provide the following..." My wife and daughter went to the same photographer, on the...

    Waiting for PR CARD - 2015 / 2016

Ah, that might explain my situation with lack of PR Card being delivered for my wife. Unfortunately, my wife's email address that CIC has been hacked so we wouldn't know if they sent us an email and we can't call them either because we're outside of Canada. Thing is, both my wife and daughter...

    Still no PR Card

You landed 5 days after us. What was their reason for taking so long on the PR Card? Did they give you an indication of when you'll receive it? edit: never mind. I saw your other post - it was because of the photo sizes. Both my daughter and wife went to the same photographer. Same as you, we...

    Still no PR Card

Yes that's the number I'm trying. Both from landline and a skype account. From dialing outside Canada i get the automated message on both: "call cannot be completed as dialed" My bro and sis tell me they get connected but are put on hold. They tried at different times but I think 10am and...

    Still no PR Card

My wife and daughter landed at end of May but we had to leave again because my work contract wasn't over yet. So, we currently reside outside of Canada but wanting to return to Canada now for good. Problem is, still no PR Card for my wife. My daughter received hers within 45 days of landing...

PR card for dependant arrived but not for PA...

My step daughter's PR Card arrived in the mail at my moms within CIC's current processing time. But my wife's hasn't come in yet. I assumed both PR cards would come together. Should I be worried? We're currently outside of Canada.

PR application in progress... can apply for visitor visa?

I applied for a TRV for my Thai wife while her PR application was under process. The TRV was rejected on the following basis (as per the ATIP notes) (Applicant) to accompany Cdn husband for a family visit. Has an FCI application for which ELIG is pending an interview. Unclear at this point...

If you have a canadian child with your spouse does it make the process faster?

I don't think it makes the process any faster for simple cases but it does alleviate a lot of red flags which would otherwise make the process slower.

Resident in Canada but work for Overseas Company

Bit late but... Yes definitely hire a tax accountant because you are considered the same as a business owner and so are eligible for many more tax deductions. My brother in law was in the same boat. Also remember that tax advice fees are also tax deductible ;D

    Should residency obligations be stricter?

I agree. It needs an overhaul. Again. It's very common here in the Middle East for people from Asian/African nations to apply for Canadian visas/citizenship just to get a better salary in the ME. With a Canadian passport, applicants can expect to be paid substantially more money than their...

    Photo size

Hi, Just about to send off the Citizenship Certificate Application for my daughter and I'm confused by the photo requirements. "The frame size must be at least 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8″ x 1 3/4″)" "at least". So, if I send the 50 x 70 mm passport size photos, they should be ok? I mean, I could...

    Complicated Situation

It's not as complicated as you think. You don't have to marry if you can demonstrate that you have lived together for at least 12 consecutive months. If you decide to marry, it makes no difference what side you're on. Your son from the previous marriage will be put on the application as your...

    Please help

Submit the original letter from the family court (or a notarized copy) in English/French. I would also suggest preparing an affidavit stating that you have tried to contact the father but he has not responded and have that legalized at the Canadian embassy. The embassy may require more info on...

PR holder oing back to Canada & Bringing wife & children to Canada

You have to apply for PR for your wife and daughter. I would advise applying for all 3 in case your plans change and you want to bring the older daughter as well.

    Screwed up PR for Dependant

Well Rob_TO was spot on. CIC have asked that I pay the fee for the accompanying child and they will re-issue the visas to include the child. Happy days!
