"Dependant" no longer a dependant but CIC is saying so

Thanks for the replies. They had sent a letter with this info earlier this year. I had suggested they do that and CIC confirmed that they received it. I don't know if it is because it was not notarized why they didn't "accept" the first letter. They are going to send the notarized one for sure.

Received AIP - out of status and applying for work permit

Thanks Ponga. The application has been in process for almost two years now... so before the pilot project came in. I am wondering if they should wait out for final DM or apply for the OWP.

Received AIP - out of status and applying for work permit

Thanks for your response Ponga. I didn't even realize that processing the OWP would take that long.

"Dependant" no longer a dependant but CIC is saying so

Hello all. The applicant had a child over 20 years old on the application (inland sponsorship). At the time, the dependant qualified as a dependant even because they were under 22. The marital status of that dependant changed and CIC was updated. A letter was sent to them informing them of this...

Received AIP - out of status and applying for work permit

Hello all. I wanted to get feedback from any inland applicants or anyone at all who had been out of status and received AIP. Were there any problems applying for the OWP? Did you have to apply for restoration of status to get the work permit even though you had AIP? How long did it take? Thanks...

Dependent has a baby - can the baby come later

I'm the OP. I pointed out that they were already on the application submitted in 2013. There's no way to not list them or make CIC unaware of them. No-one was trying to misrepresent themselves.

Dependent has a baby - can the baby come later

Thanks scylla. I've been searching but can't find any links about removing dependents. If you could share any links that would be great. I'm hoping they can get it done before a decision is made. Thanks.

Dependent has a baby - can the baby come later

Well CIC would still know about them under the "other family members" section. They are just not being sponsored. They are not trying to misrepresent themselves.

Dependent has a baby - can the baby come later

Wow. So... since a decision has not been made yet... the dependants can still be removed from the application and just the applicant processed? They are over 18 now. I have been searching for this info but cannot find much about it.

Dependent has a baby - can the baby come later

Thanks. What if the dependant with the baby is listed as non accompanying... will LICO still need to be met

Dependent has a baby - can the baby come later

The application was submitted before the new rules... in 2013. So according to CIC, the ages are locked in.

Dependent has a baby - can the baby come later

Hi all. I am asking on behalf of friends. The wife is sponsoring her husband and CIC should make a decision soon. He was two kids back home and he is living here with the wife. The application was put in before the kids turned 22. One of them had a baby but is NOT in a common law relationship...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

If the applicant lives in the Mississauga then the local office would most likely be there. This sounds like this transfer is quite different. It may or may not be. FOSS notes will not be blank. I ordered my FOSS notes twice while my app was in process and there was lots of info on them.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Order your FOSS notes ASAP! When a file gets transferred to local office without AIP then that means there are concerns about the application (usually the relationship) and you are no longer being processed normally. Your wait time could be 2-3 times longer than those that did NOT get...

    CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP PRACTICE TEST

The library ones are the only ones I used. They're free and effective. The test was very easy. Some of those other practice website have information that is not entirely correct or they make the questions unnecessarily difficult. Once you read the guide the CIC sends and practice via the library...

HOW TO KNOW THE LOCAL OFFICE?

I don't think you get your "local" office all the time. I live in Scarborough and my file was sent Glen Erin, Mississauga. The Scarborough office is very close. I guess even St. Clair too. I met a lot of people at Glen Erin who lived way east and were surprised to be sent there.

Student/work permit since 2006 and applying citizenship

No. You don't have to wait another year. You will meet the residency requirements by March or April of this year if you don't leave Canada again before then.

    Who is the fastest?

I live in Scarborough. My file was sent to Mississauga. From the date the received my app to the date I was sworn in is 210 days. So just under 7 months for my app through that office. Applied in June. Got sworn in January.

    Is buffer ACTUALLY important?

It was the day before my citizenship test that I saw that there were no stamps at all in my passport - except for the country that I visited. I brought my boarding passes and travel consents letters with dates (as I had travelled with my child) just in case I was questioned. No questions were...

    Is buffer ACTUALLY important?

I became PR in 2011. I applied for citizenship. 2 days after meeting the residency requirements. I was sworn in as a Canadian citizen a little over 6 mths of sending in my app. I travelled twice after becoming PR for a total of 23 days. I had no issues at all with my app.
