At last, I am a Canadian! I had my oath ceremony on February 16 in Ottawa My timeline is in my signature. My ecas never changed to DM until I received my oath letter. Best of luck to everyone!

Hi everyone, sorry I've had a crazy few days I'm happy to report that I had my oath today. I received my oath invitation letter by mail on feb 4 (dated February 2). My ecas changed to "decision made" on the evening of Feb 4, then the 5th line about the oath invitation showed up a couple days...

I have read in a few topics that you can't apply for a Canadian passport on the same day as your oath. How true is that? Has anyone tried recently? I have had friends who got their Canadian citizenship and went to do their passport the same day. However, this was about 5-6 yrs ago.

Thanks for sharing. Did you have a DM shortly after your test as well? Does it seem odd that since Dec. 3 I have had nothing- no update to ecas, no correspondence...maybe no news is good news...I guess.

I'm assuming your friend is from the Ottawa office? Do you know if his/her ecas changed to DM after the test? Was the Oath invite on ecas or by mail or both? Are you from the Ottawa office as well? Can you share your timeline/experience?
