Apply for GCMS note/AITP, you can check on youtube how to apply for that. It will give you insight of your application. It usually takes 30 days to get it after request. But this time i've got within 20 days.

My suggestion is yes, strongly recommended, do it as soon as possible if you don't want any delay in your process. One of my friend ha received and after completion they have got decision made in 10-15 days.
