Contrary to your beliefs I think Montreal is quite expensive compared to other cities in Canada. Don't get fooled by price tags. The VAT/GST and PST taxes + MANDATORY TIP (wtf?) is pretty high :) But if you are smart, you can file for tax returns each fiscal year and you get some money back(~...

original transcripts - plz reply urgently

UoP is good but not all universities are that awesome in service. CoEP issued me 4 transcript copies in in 2 days too whereas some universities take 15 days and demand docs collection by hand. Check with your universities. My Canadian university asked me for "transcripts of last 2 degree courses...

original transcripts - plz reply urgently

Transcripts are always original as they are provided by your university in a sealed envelope. Only those are valid. If you have opened them and then photocopied them and are trying to send then its quite rare that a university will accept them. However, my university had asked for two...

    Chances of getting a visa

Aarey, no need to get 8 lacs as loan. Just show your/guardians savings that too as a backup source (around 3-4 lacs is enough). Otherwise funding letter works well. But ask others well before deciding anything.

    Chances of getting a visa

Don't waste money on Visa consultants. Canadian visa process is pretty straightforward. Read everything carefully including VFS site and Study Permit Application guide. People on this forum are helpful. Don't hesitate to ask anything. But please search previous threads/Google before asking though.

I think he is talking about travel insurance. Its not that beneficial if you are being covered by a health insurance plan from your university upon arrival. Don't go for travel insurance now. Its not worth the money spent as you would just be insured while you are flying.
