The exact same thing happened to us, and since we had copies of everything, we sent it all in again - they found the originals and it didn't screw up our timeline, but yup - they lost the application. The only consequence (apart from stress) was that they DIDN'T lose the work permit app...

Well, a little good news - OWP arrived today, dated Jan. 27th! We did send an application with the PR package but as it was misprocessed we had to send another after receiving AIP. Processing time 3 months, almost to the day... not bad for what must be a crazy holiday season, I suppose! Hang in...

Well, we've received two letters: I've been approved as sponsor, and she's been granted AIP! They asked for a new police certificate, and we sent an OWP app - I guess now we just have to wait... *knock on wood* for the chart: AIP granted November 8, 2010

Oh - and I wanted to mention: Letter requesting info sent July 29. About August 15th we were able to get everything sent away, and CIC claims that it was received November 1st. fearing delays in the application, I called the 800 number, and the agent told me that no, that "recieved" date was...

Maybe it's got something to do with where you are? We're in S. Ontario, and she does some volunteer work with a local charity, so my guess is that maybe they were after some clarification in that area. Maybe if your name doesn't pop up in anynetworks, they assume you're doing nothing? Not really...

Hi! We sent our PR app (etc) in February, it was rec'd Feb. 5th of this year. Processing started April 20, and on July 29th we were sent a letter requesting information on Work History from February to present (requested info sent). Now, I guess, we wait, just like everybody else... we haven't...

This is insanity. Don't they realize the effect this has on people??? I pay an exorbitant amount of taxes, and don't use our social safety nets, have kids in school, drive on the highways, make use of healthcare... too bad I couldn't direct that cash to somewhere that actually does me some good...

good question! We got the same letter a few weeks ago, along with a form to fill out. Pretty short answers! My fiancee volunteers at a charity-run secondhand store (none of the helpers are compensated); perhaps they know this and wanted more details? That's about the only reason we could think...

Well, that's a weird letter: we need to provide work history from feb 2010 to present. She has been unable to work - they denied the OWP (which was sent in the same envelope as the other apps) out-of-hand within a month of receiving our package. So no work history. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?? we...
