    Spousal sponsorship

Thanks well still weighing it up, a) slight worry though would think pretty straightforward case, both clean records etc, sponsor ticks all the right boxes, relationship on going for several years with visits back and forth before finally getting hitched last month here last month, proper...

    Spousal sponsorship

OK thanks, that would seem a struggle remembering back about 20 years for me, 10 was hard enough! Actually I'm still not sure whether to file it with London or somewhere here? Couple of weeks back I made a few posts here and found out filing it inland means could apply for an open work permit...

(just for info my canadian spouse is the one sponsoring me, no dependants) I...

    Spousal sponsorship

I see, thought that was also too good to be true. So is it better to apply outland (to UK office), from what I understand the whole process will be alot quicker from start to finish, about 8 months from what I read. I can also stay in Canada and apply outland? Or apply inland, after 6 months I...

Coming from the UK, is honesty the best policy?

That's great news. Yeh just the stamp in passport gives you 6 months automatically, you can even try extending beyond that, it's not been a problem for me. I have never heard of immigration coming onto the plane wonder why they did that as Vancouver must have quite a large immigration desk etc...

Query regarding extension of Visitor Record

When did you apply? The current processing times for vistor applications look ridiculously long at the moment, 71 days for online and 97 for paper :o http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp.asp What is going on there? Like you say was about 3 weeks, that's how long it took for me...

Hi Littlemiss, I was wondering how you got on?? Myself I will give my story now. I am back in Canada since last week after 5 months in England and I was amazed how plain sailing it went! In Canada while waiting for Extension

Yeh you have a thing called "implied status". Not sure how much time they give you to leave if an extension is refused?

    extended stay

Well you know you can leave when ever you want, you don't have to stay to the end of your extension. This is the downside about long distance relationships, someone is going to be away from their family. At least these days it's cheap/free and easy to keep in touch via the internet with things...

US Citizen Entering for 6 Months and Potentially Applying for Extended Stay

I thought US citizens can dart back and forth across the border almost as they please? What makes you think they wont let her stay, it's not like she's from a country that needs to apply for a visa.

Coming from the UK, is honesty the best policy?

Be helpful if you said what website online though! I think I paid around £70 for 3 months cover initially last year which was the cheapest I could find online (I do actually forget the site though lol and have deleted the old emails now)but sounds like you've found somewhere even cheaper...
