If you're a PR, they normally require copy of IDs, diplomas and references. They do background checks here i.e. criminal, previous employment before they hire you. In my case, the entire process is close to a month.

My husband who is in Alberta will receive all our passports. I am not sure if he used USPS though.

We got PPR from Seattle and after 5 weeks, our passports are on its way back.

I think it was around Nov 2011. That was the time when the VO requested for our medicals. It's been a month since we submitted our passports and to date, according to my husband it hasn't been returned yet. :o

In our case, Buffalo was handling our designated VO then it got transferred to Ottawa. However, ppr was requested by Seattle VO. :-X

Ours is employer stream which includes family sponsorship. We have submitted our passports 1st week of May and waiting for the visa. This entire process of immigration started in 2010 and I believe, will end by middle of 2012.

We are on our 4th week of waiting for our passports to be returned. Just checked ecas and no updates yet.
