Dual Intent - visitor visa extension for PR outland applicant

If your application for Permanent Status is not in process there is no dual intent. I would also question why you are doing outland if she is staying in country.

Married in Canada, Living/Returning to Colombia

    1. It is helpful that he has shown already that he followed the rules of his previous visa. 2. Showing any reasons to return will help his case. Showing your reasons to return as well will only help. 3. Visa is denied you do what everyone else has to... marry somewhere else. 4. Wedding in...

    Tourist Visa for Colombian girlfriend

The most important thing is to try to show that she WILL return. That will be their major consideration of the visa. Her job, property, and even showing the child is enrolled in school for the next year and it starts on a specific date can all help convince them. Good luck.

    TRV for Spouse

This is WRONG. After my sponsorship was approved my wife applied for a visitor visa in the meantime. She was granted one very quickly. I made sure to mention the application in process. I gave good...NON-PERMANENT... reasons to visit. And provided good reasons to return... her job, her son...

Visitor's visa WHILE waiting for immigration process for my wife?

What we did was give a letter from the employer saying she was free to go on vacation for 2 weeks. Also included information that her son was staying in school and she had to return for that. Anything else like property and other things that show a close tie to her home country. Also...

You should have called and reminded me. I was off work too. Damn. Any activity is good new Don...remember that. At least you know they are moving it along, even if slowly. :/ In our app I found a few things repeated near the end...like the letter for our son to leave the country...

    what is dual intent?

Dual intent ALLOWS for you to apply for a TRV when you have a PR application already in process. It can help or hinder you depending on what they think of your TRV application. If you have a PR in process...and apply for a TRV with no job and no reason to go back home, and say you are going...

Hi Calvados We are done but I still check here to help as I can...or at least give best wishes. Good luck to you too. We didn't have an official timeline in the letter. We were always told to check the website for typical timelines. My wife didn't get any indication of the process until...

If you have travel history of course that is looked upon favourably. My wife didn't have any travel history outside of Russia. We did purchase insurance. Both when she visited and when she arrived in Ontario since you are without insurance for the first 90 days when you land. It's a small...

We did NOT purchase tickets. Knowing there is a good chance of being denied I did not want to BET any money on success besides the application fee. If you buy tickets and get declined it sucks. I know because before we were married she had tried to get a temp visa and was denied and we were...

Once you get your sponsorship approval Dmitri you might consider a temp visa for her to visit. That's what we did back in 2008 and to our surprise she was approved and got to visit over Christmas and New Years. It only hurts a little to apply and we just treated it like a lottery...if we...

Notorius Canadian Embassies - a case study

Actually I didn't pick on just ONE thing. I commented on two different things. One...they obviously did not read the guide in order to know to photocopy the family page if they needed more space. A dumb mistake. Two...the embassy asked for originals. If you are not attentive enough to read...

Notorius Canadian Embassies - a case study

This one comment struck me as strange so I went to read a little... In the guide in the section..."Completing the forms". So you are telling me a high level lawyer is unable to read and follow a simple instruction that I found within 2 minutes? Then I read... And going to the Nigerian...

    Bringing your fiancee from Russia

Conjugal is really for couple who because of circumstances beyond their control cannot get married. Like same sex couples in countries that do not allow those unions...or I believe Filipinos who cannot get divorced legally so they cannot marry again legally. Just examples. Since you can...

    Bringing your fiancee from Russia

Matt is correct. Your options are marrying there and sponsoring her. Or IF she can get a TRV, you marry here and sponsor her. Either way...I don't see how you can avoid the hassles of paperwork and sponsorship. It's doable though...I did it and know a few others now that have as well.
