Probably you are right.... In my case I had an H1B visa expired in 2008 but I did have an unexpired B1/B2 USA visa . BTW I took my citizenship oath today so yes I am a citizen already ;) Best luck to all.

I had a non cancelled and expired Us visa in my passport and I was never told anything about it.

I think that's what the immigration official is asking for... he does not want you to play with the (US, Canadian) system.....

You should probably call CIC and ask them if that document is enough so you do not have to wait months to know that

Congratulations if this post is true... but I highly doubt this is a real case. Usually it takes 1-2 months to get the acknowledge letter from CIC and more than 3 months to move to local office.
