I only want to sponsor one parent...how to avoid involving the other?

I want to sponsor my mother to come to Canada, but she is still legally married to her husband, and won't divorce due to religious stuff. Is there any way around this so I don't have to have him involved?

    Visa Funds

I put in the amount from my husband's T4, as he was at the same job making the same income. Since I put him as the source of income, it is ok to use that dollar amount. I figured what's his is mine, and CIC must have seen it the same way, because the extension was issued with no questions or...

    Visa Funds

I am assuming that you are referring to a visitor visa extension. When I filed for my visitor visa extension last year, I just stated that my husband was paying for my upkeep/return home and included copies of his T4s. It was accepted-no questions asked.

    Passport Request

I knew they processed it on Dec 6, because my ECAS changed from "Application Received" to "Decision Made, the office will contact you concerning this decision." The postmark on the Priority Mail envelope that I sent them was Dec 11, and I got in on the morning of Dec 13.

    Question about landing/Peace Bridge

Landing update: Myself and our 4 year-old daughter arrived in Buffalo, NY by train (with 8 large pieces of luggage). I called Buffalo Transportation when I got there, they arrived within 15 minutes with a minivan. It was about a 20 minute drive to the bridge from the Depew depot. We pulled up...

    Passport Request

I submitted my passport to the Seattle office as well. I sent it overnight express on Nov 28, they received it Nov 29. They processed on Dec 6, and posted it back to me via Priority Mail on Dec 11, I received the package on Dec 13. You can probably expect a similar turnaround, but with added...

IS it worth spending SOO MUCH TIME checking ECAS.......!!?

Not really. Mine hadn't changed for a year, and I checked it every day, only to see "Application Received". The only time it was updated was last week when they issued my copr.

    Question about landing/Peace Bridge

Believe me, I have tried to find another way, this is the only option I have left. No one that I know is willing to drive me and a 4 year-old child into Canada in the middle of December, not even if I pay them $500, which is what it will cost us by train and then taxi. Most of the taxi...

    Question about landing/Peace Bridge

So if were to cross on foot, where would I go to meet hubby? Is there a way to access this area if I were to arrive by taxi, complete the landing, and then go find him? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get everything figured out.

    Question about landing/Peace Bridge

I don't know if that is the greatest idea, I'll have luggage and a 4 year-old who is terrified of bridges. That would be a long, cold walk. :D

    Question about landing/Peace Bridge

Unfortunately, he is a Canadian PR, and he is not from a visa exempt country, so entering the US is not an option for him. That is the reason I would have to take the taxi across the bridge, and I am hoping he can meet us over there for the drive home. Any info on this? Thanks!

    Question about landing/Peace Bridge

Hi guys, I will be getting my copy soon, and I have a question about landing at Peace Bridge. If I were to take a taxi from Buffalo to Fort Erie, is there any way Hubby can pick us up in his car from there?

    Certificate of departure

Because it is illegal to marry someone for the purpose of immigration. If he is not in a relationship with someone now, and you are suggesting that he go "meet someone" who can sponsor him to the US. That is a crime. It's not like USICS isn't going to find out about the deportation from Canada...

Stupidest thing I ever read. Why are you encouraging the OP to engage in criminal activity?
