OK, thank you both. I took French in college, but it's all dead now, so I'll have to take some lessons. Looks like there are 12 different levels of knowledge. Is there a minimum level I have to get to to be able to "pass"? Thank you

I've been doing some research on line to find out what the best way to learn French is - a tonn of options out there. Curious if some of you have purchased courses (in audio/book format) and what the the better ones out there are - ones with which you learn the fastest? Thank you.

Got an email back from France. For future reference: testing centers in USA: http://www.ciep.fr/tcf/annuaire_centres.php Then choose: "États-Unis" as country name. ;)

OK, thank you, CIO. :) If the application is not rejected by Quebec, does that mean: 1) that it will eventully clear and you will be "selected by Quebec" and it's just a matter of waiting your turn in line to get a letter of acceptance by Quebec so you can then just go through the formalities...
