hi, i dont know if anyone can help me with the skilled worker score. i know you need 67 to pass. and i did the self assesment score and i came up short. i had problems with the part were they ask about your school. i finished high school (12years)and then i when to school for medical assistsant witch it was only 8 months and staring september ill be going back to school to become a pharmacy tech. i dont know witch one i should pick. because if i get more pionts ill be able to meet the 67 points. thanks for your help

Until you graduate from the Pharmacy Tech course you can't claim it.  If it is less than 1 year, you will only get 5 points, 1 year or more 15 points.  Neither Pharmacy Technician nor Medical Office Assistant are considered skill work in the A,B or O of the NOC.  Both are C level.

Skilled work for Immigration purposes has to be in NOC category A,B, or O.  See: http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/en/workplaceskills/noc/index.shtml  You 2 quoted jobs don't fall into A,B, or O, so it is not considered skill work.

When you look at the noc matrix at http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC-CNP/docs/Matrix_Poster_English.pdf you can see which jobs are classed as what.  The first letter of the NOC number tells you what category, 3 is for health occupations.  The 2nd letter tells you the skill level, 0 stands for skill level 0, 1 stands for skill level A, 2 for B, 4 for C and 6 for D.

When you go to http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC-CNP/app/quicksearch.aspx?lc=e&searchkey=pharmacy+technician you see that a search for pharmacy technician gives you the level C 3414 assisting occupations.

If you look for medical assistant, http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC-CNP/app/quicksearch.aspx?lc=e&searchkey=medical+assistant you will have a few more choices.  If you were a medical laboratory assistant (3212) or practical nurse (3233) you would qualify under skill level B.  As a regular medical assistant, you'd still be skill level C.

There is no longer a "retired class" in Canadian Immigration, you will have to qualify either as a skilled worker or in the investor class.
