Hi,

Finally I found a forum for applicants from Saudi Arabia. It will be great to share our experience and timeline.

I've sent my application without the Saudi PCC. My lawyer advised me to wait unitl requested.

hi , can anyone tell me that police certificates from saudi arabia are to be submitted with the initial application or they request it later....being an expat is there something that we need to add to the application apart from iqama copy and passport copy

 @ nad

CIC strongly recommends to submit PCC with the application. You don't need to submit iqama copy as it is only a residential permit, however you do need to submit visa copy, national id card copy and passport copy.
Hope it helps

hi
For Saudi PCC has to be sent in the later stages when CHC send us the request form. it is clearly mentioned in the website. Send PCC for other countries except Saudi and they will send the forms later alongwith the medicals

The Canadian embassy in Riyadh can help you in that... but they charge you per page... anyway, you need to call them in advance to make an oppointment as they don't accept walk-in visitors (except Canadians of course) and you can verify how much they charge ( I think they charge SR 70 per page ).

Guys,

If you are an expat residing in Saudi Arabia, and applying Canada immigration to CHC London, you need to submit copy of your iqama with the english translation attached. This is their basis of determining the visa office who will process your application.

Visa in your country of residence is fine. Anything that will show proof of your legal residency from the country where you you are currently living. If you are a Filipino living in Saudi Arabia, and will not show any proof of residency, they might forward your application to Manila visa office. I did that with my application.

 @ aspire,

So you mean that attaching a copy of the visa will suffice !!
Further VO checklist (London), says at the start that all the applicants from Pakistan will send their applications to London !
Please clarify, i am bit confused here, as i have already put London, as my VO and dont have iqama translation in hand ., Huh?

I have purchased my bank drafts for my PR application at the Saudi British BAnk here in Riyadh. I am leaving Saudi Arabia soon too for good and will be landing in Canada from Philippines on June 26. Now, I am hesitant to buy a bank draft this time for the reason that if there are problems with the bank draft later on, I can no longer go back to Saudia. I am also aware that the maximum amount of Cash that one can bring out from Saudi Arabia is only 60k Riyals. Any advise on what is the best thing to do?

azyz, Saudi British Bank is an associated bank of HSBC of Canada. It is better to purchase bank draft there. But you need to have an account in the bank (SABB) to buy one.

dear azyz and aspire,

I think attaching Saudi PCC itself is a solid proof of us being permanent resident of Saudi Arabia. Other than that VO checklist (London) at the start in a "Note" says that all Pakistani applicant have to submit to London VO. So in a way London being our VO is quite clearly established. However i would appreciate if you could share some place in riyadh from where i can get iqamas translated and then notarized.I have got very little time for this, please give exact location, thanks.
Congrats to both of you and wish you best of luck for the oncoming life in canada.
