Some people see it like the coalition is stealing power from the government for no good reason. They talked to a bunch of people in AB on the TV news yesterday. AB is quite conservative and many people said they felt cheated, that eastern Canada always wants to control everything and that they see the west as their colonies. One guy said he had never heard as much talk before about Alberta separating.
As for the coalition working with the Bloc Q, they will have to pay a price for that. The BQ wants independent Quebec, that is what that party is all about. For BQ to work with the coalition government, they would demand big money going into QC, not like that isnt plenty flowing that way already.

sad to say most of the politicos now they have their own personal agenda, they are hunger for their own fame and power. politicos nowadays are not considering the voice of the people but voice of themselves. hope i will still see canada as one canada not divided canada....

Lets not forget BC,Manitoba and Saskatchewan and the Yukon,We control more then half of Canada wealth,Can you imagine How rich We would be if we did not have to send Money to prop up Ontario and Quebec,Heck Lets call our own Referendum The West would be a richer nation then Canada currently is

I don't think it will happen. People here are too laid back As for Quebec, I don't understand what the big deal is. If they want to leave, let them go. They keep threatening it, let them do it. They amusing thing is that they are not self supporting, they rely on the federal government for funds and yet they keep threatening to leave. It's time that they decide once and for all if they want to be Canadians or not and then put it to rest.

Well, maybe the rest of the country should hold a referend to kick them out of the federation then ;-)

Interesting points of view, and we (the 95% of people of this forum that are not Canadians) just can read and learn how politics run in Canada, and someday we'll be able to vote overthere.
