Sample Cover Letters
«

Hello all!
I am from Texas and my wife is from Canada and we are preparing our spouse sponsorship package, which is 99% complete. The last major thing we need to do is write a cover letter, but trying to find examples/samples online is quite a task! The only ones we could find you have to purchase through a "do it yourself" kit... a little late for that!
Can anyone send/post the ones they submitted or any samples they know of?
Muchos appreciation!

Hello,
mmmmmm most of our cover letters included personal info so I don't think I want to put it here. However, I will tell you exactly what mine included.
First I had background info on me and him. Education, work, etc,
I also put how we met and how much we love each other, plans together, I also asked them to process our application asap so we can be united in Canada asap.
You have to explain anything that you think would raise eyebrowes or questions when they look at ur applicaiton.
Hope this helps.

This is the type of information I was glad to have the advice of an immigration lawyer about what to say. It is not so much about your individual history or qualifications, this isn't a resumé letter. They absolutely want to know what your personal story is as a couple. How did you meet, what ongoing contact did you maintain until the time you decided to get married. How many times did you go and visit. How entwined are your lives with regards to money, shared property (if any at this point), family - have you attended family functions together, gone on vacations together. Again, all to ensure the validity of the relationship. The more evidence you give of your connection, the better.
