The issue is...no matter what issues you have in your marriage...it does not entitle you automatically to a PR.

Scenario 1: Clearly he intended to ditch her, so why should he get PR when it was because of her he stood to gain it?

Scenario 2: We are sorry that this happened to the bride. The groom was an ass but this scenario could of also happened in her own home country too...she could of married a local guy and he could of ditched her. She would face the same issues. BUT its not for the Canadian Government to 'rescue her'.  Thats life..crap happens when you enter into a marriage contact...not everyone has a happy ending. I strongly believe he told her before that he had withdrawn. But she figured if she landed, she would get the PR automatically.

No matter what happens in your marriage, the Canadian Government is not responsible to make your life happier by giving you a free pass i.e. pr.

Notice the appeal judge commented on the fact that she sent him money, but it didn't appear to be for financial support as he had a comfortable living working on the family farm?  Why would he think it was better to remain in Canada where he "had nothing and was sleeping in a car"? 

This guy hasn't a legal toe to stand on, much less a legal leg.  He's wasting everyone's time and his resources trying to prop up a reputation HE destroyed by being a liar and fraud.  He now believes he is entitled to compensation from Canada for this!  Some people.

And the runaway groom alleged that he was not given notice of his arrest or deportation. How can CBSA contact him about his arrest or deportation if CBSA don't know his whereabouts after he runaway from his wife from the airport. CBSA sends letters by mail if they need to contact you. The only known address of the Runaway Groom is of his wife.

He is definitely lying when he says that he found out on the wedding day that she was disabled. Point six in the appeal notes states that the uncle told him prior to start of the relationship that she was unable to walk due to polio. I agree CharlieD he really is just wasting time going ahead with this lawsuit!

In my view the Woman is equally responsible for the whole mess.If the groom was 35 years younger then her , so how stupid she was to think about such relationship in Practical and to import a smart, healthy and young guy as a life partner...The whole story is not a News bec there are many cases of fraudulent marriages but the News is a lady married married to a 35 years younger guy..

My opinion is that this lawsuit is frivolous.  It probably has more to do with embarrassment on the part of the groom and that someone told him he could get money out of it.  Never forget what a big ticket item Canadian PR is to much of the world.  So I'm annoyed that the government now has to waste money defending this when it will probably be thrown out.

Regarding the "he said, she said" going back and forth between the couple, I don't think anything.  I don't know them nor was I privy to their private conversations.  I was not raised in their culture either.  I'm in no position to judge what anyone should have thought.  I've seen lots of couples who looked rock solid only to break up later, with or without immigration in the way.  And I've seen odd couples whom no one would believe would make it still going strong no matter the age difference, cultural difference and/or disabilities.  Only the heart knows what it truly feels.  So was this girl fooling herself into believing someone would really love her although she is confined to a wheelchair?  And being completely unfamiliar with arranged marriages, I have no idea what the groom was told either nor what is culturally acceptable.  I do know that in some parts of the world, the groom would garner much more sympathy as marriage is seen more as a contract to move someone forward in the world with status, connections, money, etc. than it is seen as a bond of love.  But that doesn't appeal to Canadian sensibilities and he's wasting his time with this. 

Overall, I wish it would go away and these people would focus on getting on with their lives instead of being caught up in their 15 minutes of fame and dragging out a horrible experience even further.

Believe me Guys & i will prove this that i'm the victim of Ashpreet Badwal along with Candian & Indian system.If she is disabled & sponser of me that doesn't prove that she can't lie  & she was the victim? I openly challenge her that bring any proof & i will prove myself as a innocense person in the seconds.This is my last aim of life that i want to prove the truth & for the the truth i dont have to do any hard work because truth always remain on his feet.
