I am considering making deposits to RRSP, becasue I would like to avoid some taxes.  Is RRSP not available to a temporary worker ? I am working with post graduarate work permit and applied to PR last month.

You can't avoid taxes using RRSP. You have to pay taxes for the first year.
The next year you will have RRSP room to decrease taxable income provideed you make contribution to your RRSP.
The taxes as well as the death are not avoidable.

I jsut received my Notice of Assessement from CRA and have $13000 of a contribution room.  I maxed out TFSA, so I am curious about RRSP.
