Hey guys,

So I applied at the end of July 2011 and here it is, this morning I recieved an e-mail for RPRF AND PASSPORT SUBMISSION. There was no INITIAL ASSESSMENT. Is that normal?

It was a little quicker than i originally thought but I guess it's good. So a question for you guys!

Where do I have to send my passport? Is it Fort Erie? or Buffalo? I know I have read teh instructions that came with the e-mail and it says " If you have a Candadian address then submit it to For Erie address". So If anyone can just confirm this please.

And did any of you also sent the return express post envelope? Express post encelope within Canada, not the US one!

Any answers will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

yeah all my timelline is listed under my name on the left side of this message. Just add RPRF AND PASSPORT REQUEST recieved today.

Ok, I am a little confused now. The e-mail they sent says "Submit passport to buffalo in next 15 days". But when I go to the link it says " If your addess is in Canada then submit it to the FORT ERIE?

I don't wanna screw this up as it is an important document. Anyone recently sent their passport for visa with a Canadian Address?

Hi umairz,

If you have US visa and are in GTA go directly to Baffalo and get your passport stamped and then enter Canada so both the passport stamping and entering to canada will be completed

I guess Baffalo office will accept the passport on Tuesday and Thursday. Check in the website before going.

Yeah, I read that but I don't have a visa to USA yet and I don't wanna go through a whole lot of trouble to get one and It will take time too. So, I am just going tyo send it out to Fort Erie today. and then hopefully will have it back in couple of weeks time.

Good Luck happy!

Hi Umairz,

We do have almost identical timelines. I received the RPRF and passport submission e-mail from Buffalo. I'm in the same position as you are.

From what I learned, I'll be just following whatever the instructions are; I'll be sending my passport to the Fort Erie address, but would appreciate any comments.

To answer the other question, my Ecas status is still showing as In Process (Medical results have been received.) But I guess this is irrelevant at this point.

In all cases, I'm happy this is going so fast and so smooth  Grin

Pathalo, thanks for your reply. Yeah, that's exactly what I did. I sent it to Fort Erie and it should be there on tuesday and enclosed a return expresspost envelope. I had everything ready including pictures and got a bank draft for my RPRF right away. My Ecas still shows Meds recieved as well, but yeah as you said that it is irrelevant at this point. And not to mention that it always takes time for them to update that. So, hopefully all is good and we'll be done soon. I am hoping my passport to return by 15th. Or at least before Christmas. If you have recieved the request, I suggest that send it as soon as you can because you really don't wanna get delayed by the extra two weeks of holidays.

Let me know and Good luck!

Congrats guys! its really going fast and smooth for you guys  Grin but there are tons of people like me who applied May 17, 2011 and still awaiting PPR. lol I heard whosoever is getting their file transferred to CPP Ottawa are lucky as process is really fast there. And people who got stuck with their files in Buffalo or elsewhere are not so lucky  Tongue

Another thing I have heard is that people who did not receive Fingerprint request are getting their PPR faster than the ones who had to submit fingerprints. I came to know from my friend who applied one month earlier than me (we both are at MEDS received position) that he submitted an inquiry for his file and Buffalo replied that they are still waiting on his fingerprint report from RCMP. He did fingerprints on Sept 03. Later, he called in to RCMP office where he came to know that their is backlog for finger prints and RCMP is taking somewhere 90-120 days for processing (HOLLY *censored word*!).

Basically, Me and my friend are stuck at fingerprint report which RCMP is yet to submit.  Sad

1.  No it is not.  If you submit paper fingerprints, about 120 days.  If you go to the commissionaires and have digital prints done, result in 72 hours.

Because some people don't know there are 3 companies that do digital prints for RCMP checks and others are outside of Canada, where you can't do digital printing.

Yes, you are right but i did electronic fingerprinting but it is still taking time.
The only second scenario i can think of is there might be already a criminal record on my name (lol may be because i got a common name i guess) which will ultimately take longer to process as RCMP will have to manually check all prints. Well that means its just my bad luck Sad but then my friend is on the same place as me.
