When I paid my fees I didnt pay my RPRF for personal family reasons..When CIC requests the fee how long do you have to pay it from when they send you the letter? I know it holds up your application and takes CIC 6 weeks to process the fees..do they expect the payment right away or do they give you a time limit?

Well if they ask you to pay it,it is most likely because they are ready to issue the visa but cant till you pay the fee.And i would immagine the letter requesting the fee has a timeline on it like all their letters do,stating that if it is not paid by such a date they will assume you do not want to continue with the app.Its a basic comment they put on every letter.

6 weeks to process the RPRF fee! Is that right? I paid mine on Aug 18. Does anyone know how much longer I might have to wait. This is killing me. I just want to know. I should have paid it up front, now I'm kicking myself.

Hi ljane, i noticed your rprf was rejected...do you mind sharing why it was rejected? I ask because I did not pay it as well so was thinking of just paying it now online without being asked to do so, hoping that will reduce the extra 2 months waiting period.

Below is all the info that I've gotten from the CIC site and this site. Hope it helps.

I highly recommend that you pay the RPRF fee before you get the letter saying to pay it. It will save you a lot of time. The reason why mine was rejected was because my husband paid it with a regular old check. It must be paid online through CIC or from a financial intitution.

If you pay early. You can pay it online or order the form from CIC to get it paid from a finacial institution.
Note: The online payment would not allow me to pick Buffalo, so I picked Mississauga.

iarblue wrote on July 3 2010: mississauga you always pay mississauga, even if you sent the payment to the visa office they send it to mississauga, once you have made your payment get two copies of the recipt they email you send one to mississauga with your client number from the first paper you recieved then send the other to the visa office doing their app.

To pay online: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/index.asp?lang=en
If you cannot or do not want to pay online, you must get an original receipt of payment form IMM 5401 so you can pay at a financial institution (such as a bank or Western Union). This form is not available online, so you must order an original receipt by mail.
-You must include a copy of this receipt when you apply.

https://services3.cic.gc.ca/kmsweb/order/orderitemform_init.do?dispatch=orderitemform_init&org.apache.struts.taglib.html.TOKEN=62d12cdd24dc815c78e87f261e028480

-If you are unable to or do not wish to use this order form, you may also order by contacting our Call Centre at 1-888-242-2100.

-The sponsor's name and info should be on the RPRF receipt.

-The address as to where to pay the money when you mail it in is at this site:
 http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/canada/mississauga.asp

iarblue on August 14 said: Send original to Mississauga, you dont need to send it to the visa office Mississauga will inform them once it has been processed but if you want to you can fax it or email it to them by scanning.

You know I called CIC because I wanted to make sure I was paying all the correct fees and they said oh you don't have to pay that now, I said I heard it can slow down the process.. he said "no it does not matter, or effect the processing time at all." I still paid it before sending in my app as it really looked to me that anyone who did not pay it in the beginning were disappointed by it slowing down the process in some unexpected way. Anyhow I just do not get why this CIC Rep was saying it does not matter when there is so many people it has effected waiting to pay. Just goes to show calling is not always helpful advice, guess there just told to say that.

As You I would lose my mind if anything makes this process take any longer.

Hi dear buds

My stupid, very stupid, lawyer forgot to pay right of permanent residence fee at the beginning and Now I am going to loose an academic year because of his mistake. I think cic should remove their license for a while once they do something wrong.
Anyway, I got a letter from the embassy in Damascus requesting right of permanent residence fee to be paid and a questionnaire to be filled. There wasn't anything special in the questionnaire. only questions which I answered several times before in the forms. Do you think they reviewed my application and all other stuffs were ok so that they are asking only for RPRF to be paid or I might get another email requesting for more other documentation ?
I paid the RPRF on 1th August but still haven't received anything.
How long do you think it may take time ?

Your helps will be appreciated
Regards for all of us Cheesy

I completely understand your frustration. I've copied and posted my talk with others on another thread. It's not concrete, but I hope that it helps.

Ljane79 wrote on Aug 27 I have a potential job in Calgary where we will be living and I'm afraid that they will find someone else while I wait for the final word. I just wish I knew how much longer. Something a little more concrete about how long after I pay my RPRF will they send a passport request?

silverbee on Aug 27 If they requested RPRF I except it will be very short since they only request that if you were approved, right?
Good luck!

sbwv09  on Aug 27 ljane, I agree with silverbee that if they are asking for your fee that you are probably approved. However, I think that the fact that the fee wasn't paid up front can delay it for a few more weeks.. but you are still very close!

After Many Forums and much Reading, and calling CIC.. As I said in many posts not paying it up front depending on the processing office will delay your process from 2-4 weeks. They told me it does not matter and would not be a issue but every post you will find will show it does Delay your process.. and at times so very sadly so.. the issue of I paid, vs did we get it...

Heart breaking pay it in advance or even two months after you submitted your app and your good, but if they ask for it, yeh you Lost time Sad

We couldn't afford to pay it on filing either, but we were finally able to pay it last week. I figured it was better than waiting for a request and slowing things down in any way. When I called CIC to find out how to pay it, they told me that it may delay it up to a month, depending on the visa office that is processing the application.
