Hi everyone. I have a question for those of you that sent your RPRFs before you got the Passport Requests. I am also thinking of sending an RPRF early to avoid wait time for passport with visa stamp. If you live in Canada (Canadian address) do you send your RPRF to Buffalo or to Fort Erie? I know that some people in Canada sent their's to Buffalo. Thanks for your help.

Hi Sask28,
I think sending to Buffalo and Fort Erie are the same. Fort Erie will transfer it to Buffalo after receiving it. (correct me if i were wrong)
Cheers, Molson

thanks for replying Molson. Ottawa-Pilot suggested sending the RPRF to Buffalo and didn't mention For Erie. So I was planning to send it to Buffalo, but wanted some opinion on this.

I see, I got a request from Buffalo asking for RCMP criminal record check, they stated I could send it to Buffalo or Fort Erie. Maybe its different with RPRF. Cheers, Molson

Hi all. I think I should have asked this question when I first posted this topic. Is it really a good idea to send the Right of Permanent Residence Fee before getting Passport Request? I want to know cos someone on another forum sent his RPRF before the Passport Request and the visa office did not have a record of receiving his RPRF. I'm even thinking of stopping payment on the money order I sent so I won't have to pay another fee if something like this happens. I would appreciate your opinions. Thanks!

I sent my RPRF with the passports after the PPR. Its still not cashed and I got my passports back already. I dont think sending RPRF before makes any difference as for them its just a check point in the case. Once they get the physical MO, they proceed without wait for stamping. They dont wait for it to realised before making the decision

If you already sent the Bank Demand Draft to them, I believe it is impossible to stop it because it is a "bank" cheque issued and guaranteed by the bank. The issuing bank can stop it and refund the amount to you only if you return the cheque back the bank or if CIC did not debit the amount in the bank demand draft and at the same time the demand draft already expired after 6 months. You will have the right to ask to get back your DD and refund it. As per my information to stop payment of a bank cheque already issued, you should rise a case in the court !! then the court will give a decision. If you did not pay the RPRF before medicals, they will ask you to pay it with medicals. I believe they will not issue for you PPR without previous payment of RPRF.

I believe you should attach a copy of the paid RPRF. but mention in your email "Urgent" so they will check it quickly. because of that they are asking us to write our name and file number in the back of the demand draft, so if any mistake happened they will record in their system while debiting the money that the DD is for the applicant with name and file number written in the DD back side.

its better to pay RPRF earlier before they send you email asking for it , i received email on 2 November to pay it as i didn't know that i could have paid it at the beginning so as soon as i received that mail i paid the fees however i heard that paying it after you receive this notification mail can delay processing your PR application so i called the immigration & they told me that it can cause 2 months delay i don't know why
