Hello,

I am the sponsor of my Russian wife (outland application) and I want to pay the RPR fee online. The visa process is nearing completion (medicals received today) but I can't seem to find much information about how to go about this. I've read conflicting instructions on this site: send the receipt to Mississauga, send the receipt to the Moscow visa office, fax, courier...

As usual, the cic website isn't very helpful.

Does anybody have any advice about this? Thanks!

Send the receipt to the correct CPC-M address (there is one specifically for RPRF and other correspondence), AND send a copy to the VO via fax (fastest method).  Ensure the fax cover letter includes sponsor and applicant names, DOB and file numbers so they can match it up correctly.

Thanks for this. Very helpful. On the cic website it says that overseas visa offices won't accept receipts paid in Canada.

If you are applying at an office outside Canada:

You can find information on fee payment methods at the website of the visa office (immigration applications) or the Canadian embassy, high commission or consulate (proof of citizenship applications) responsible for your area. Visa and consular offices cannot accept receipts for fees paid in Canada.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp

On the embassy site for Russia there is absolutely no information about paying fees. Can I still pay it in Canada?

Yes, you pay it in Canada and send the receipt as evidence to CPC-M.  They will in turn advise the VO when this is done.  Sending the fax to them is merely a way of shortening the process, it says to them, "Hey, I paid the fees, you need to look out for something from CPC-M to confirm this".  Basically, you're giving them a headsup that the receipt is coming their way from CPC-M.

Great, that is good news Smiley Sure beats paying Pony Express.

One would think that collection of fees is a high priority, but instead they make it so confusing....

Well, they DO encourage you to pay all the relevant fees upfront to save time.  I suppose they felt that was as much as is required, LOL.

In my case, I mailed a copy of the receipt to the VO in Port of Spain. If I had seen this thread before, I would have faxed it instead. I dont want to duplicate it now.

We paid the RPRF about half-way through our process. I paid it online, faxed a copy of the receipt to the VO in Brazil and mailed one to Mississauga..they still send it from Mississauga to the VO, but it seems to not slow things down as they know it is enroute.

You don't HAVE to send it to the VO, but it would not be a bad idea as the VO will be aware that it is paid and may hurry things along a little. It tends to take some time to pass from Mississauga to the VO.

Hello

I also have a question relating to the RPRF... My sponsor paid midway in the process the fees, he sent the original receipt to CPC-M and sent me a copy as well.. I neverthought to send the copy to my VO until now that I am reading the thread. A week ago my VO sent an email requesting additional docs ( my Birth Certificate and Police Clearance), I sent them the following day...I should have put a copy of the RPRF in that envelope as well hey?? Anyway my QUESTION is , can I still scan it and email to the VO who sent the email requesting the Documents that I sent, and/or just fax to her - because there  was a fax number on the email too...Another thing is I dont know what my file number is, as i never got the AOR letter?? I am assumin it is the Fxxxxxxxxx  quoted on thesubject matter of the email they sent me...RIGHT???

PS.Sorry for all questions?Huh?

Yes, you can still scan and email or fax it, whichever is easiest.  Yes, your file number is the FXXXXX quoted.

Not sure.  I recently received my FXXXXX and used it to access eCAS.  I had to spell my name the way they spelt it, though, and they've dropped a letter from my last name.
