I'm a Canadian Citizen (I was born here), was out of the country since 1995, returned as a Resident in 2006 and 2007 for several months, then permanently in August 2008.

My husband is Barbadian, we've been together since January 1996, finally got married in May 2005 in Barbados and we have 3 children together, 2 were born in Barbados (boy 7; girl 6 in July 2009 and they are still in Barbados) and the youngest one (boy 6 months) was born here in Ontario, Canada (automatically Canadian Citizen/Resident).

I am aware that my 2 children born outside of Canada are automatically Canadian Citizens by Descent, but that I will still have to apply for their Canadian Citizenship as a formality. I've already paid the fees applicable, but would require original documents when they come here to submit their applications.

My questions are:

How do/should I start the process?

Which way is easier or safer?

Should I apply for my husband inbound or outbound?

Should I give written consent for my non-resident children to come to visit me on a separate flight then my husband or can he bring them to visit me without potentially raising a flag on his application?

Need Answers and Soon! Any assistance will help. Thanks.

I am honestly not too sure about your situation, most immigration lawyers will answer any questions you have for a small fee 50-100$.It may be the best thing to get proffessional advise as there are children involved and you don't want anyone left behind for any amoumt of time or to delay things. The yellow pages are good and even some lawyers can refer you to an immigration specialist-good luck

Hi

I'm a Canadian Citizen (I was born here), was out of the country since 1995, returned as a Resident in 2006 and 2007 for several months, then permanently in August 2008.

I've already paid the fees applicable, but would require original documents when they come here to submit their applications.

My questions are:

How do/should I start the process?

1.  Your choice, but with your spouse in Barbados you can't really submit an in-canada application.  If he is in Canada, then with the processing times in Port of Spain, I might be inclined to submit an "in Canada"  With an In-Canada you lose the right of appeal, spouse can't work until you receive Approval in Principle 5/6 months into the process.

Which way is easier or safer?

Should I apply for my husband inbound or outbound?

Should I give written consent for my non-resident children to come to visit me on a separate flight then my husband or can he bring them to visit me without potentially raising a flag on his application?
