I have applied for renewal of pr after meeting residency obligation under urgent category.
My application delivered by regd post on 22nd Dec11.
No acknowledgement, no posting on web .
DO THEY SEND A LETTER INFORMING THAT APPL HAS BEEN RECEIVED?
My traveling date is in April, My old card expires in aug 12.
WILL THEY CONSIDER URGENT PROCESSING.? Tickets enclosed with appl.
Pl guide.

I don't remember receiving an acknowledgement letter. But I did get an update on the web site and then a letter once it was ready for pick-up.

You may want to call CIC and check.

Cheers...

Thanks for the prompt response.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO BE POSTED ON THEIR SIGHT ?
Pl read my post and advise me if mine is a fit case for urgent processing, considering the fact that
I still have about six months validity of my present PR card.
As regards to calling you know how it works.
Regards.

Here you go, refer to this page http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/pr-card/apply-how.asp#urgent

Refer to this link too http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-card.asp

They're currently processing applications received Aug 29 2011.

If you're unsure about you qualifying under the urgent criteria, call CIC. It all depends upon their interpretation, as your case is just border line. Current processing times are approx. 5.2 months and your travel dates are 6 months. CIC advises to wait until they have processed applications received on the day yours was delivered to them.

Watch the processing dates for the next week, if its moving slowly, you may want to fax them (information is included in the first link mentioned above).
