Response from CIC

Hi Everyone,

I sent my spousal sponsorship application on February 13th, 2008, and I was wondering how long do people generally wait to hear a response from CIC -- or at least an acknowledgement that they received the application and details so I can track it online.

Since my husband is in Iraq, priority processing would appear to apply -- whatever that means.

32 days for approval/refusal at Mississauga
3-6 months at damascus, average for spousal applications already processed.

CIC's website says they are only opening applications received up to 28 January at the moment so there will be a delay before the 32 days processing time kicks in.

I suggest that you try  www.trackitt.com  You can see what others post regarding the time that different stages are taking. 

PMM and others are correct and I have seen 'approval of sponsorship' take only three weeks.  Again, you never know the exact dates until you have your own correspondence but this site will give you a little more insight.

for me, it s my 5mouths of waiting its really very hard, i hope that this waiting ll be over very soon      inch allah
