hi,
i was wondering if a could purchase a house in canada while on a visitor visa with a help of a lawyer and is it possible to optain a resident visa on the house???

1.  Sure you can purchase the house.
2.  It will not give you a resident visa.

You can purchase a property but this will raise concerns to me. 

(1) On visitors visa probably you are hopping to let it out as your status will is not definate live(PR). 
(2)  What will you be doing for a living as visitors visa does not allow you to work.

Getting a resident permit on purchasing property is very unlikely to happen.
