Hi,
I need an urgent help.

I applied for PR in Aug 2010 and my file is being processed in Buffalo VO. Then, I was single and lived in USA.

In Oct 2010, I came to India and got married in Dec 2010. I decided not to go back to USA due to family reasons.

So, I updated my mailing address to be a US address (to recieve any communication from VO) but my residence address to India address.

To add my wife to the applicaton, I have to send 'Application for Permanent Residence' form updated with Spouse Information. This application had my Country of residence as USA.

My confusion are:
1) Do I need to change my 'Country of residence' in application from USA to India? If I change it to 'India', what will be the impact on my app processing? Also, in Additional Family information form, I have given my India address as 'Present Address'.

2) Does this mean, I need to update Schedule 1, 3 and other possible forms where I had given US as country of residence? Cause that will be a big change for not just country of residence but employer details in India, designation etc.

3) Will there be an impact on my chances to Canada PR because I moved to India in the middle of processing or will Buffalo Office continue to process my case?

4) What are the possible scenarios from here?

In file:
My 'Mailing address' is of NJ, USA (of my bro-in-law) and 'Residence + Present' address is of India.

Please help me. I am going nuts with these questions in my mind !

Regards,
Paul

You need to be truthful and update all your forms where the information has changed.  Normally they will not move your file once it is in process so it should continue in Buffalo.

Leon, Thanks so much for your response.

If I go ahead and update "all" forms, then it will result in updating not only for 'Country of Residence' but Work Experience Info in schedule 3, Personal History and Addresses in Schedule 1. I will have to provide info on new employer in India as well. Then they might ask a letter from new employer.

Do you believe all these major updates will NOT have a negative effect on my case?

I can arrange for an employment letter from my employer in India, but then I am not exactly in project management role here (as described in 0213). I picked up a job with different roles and responsibilites than 0213. Will they continue to process my case under 0213? My case is "In Process".

Thanks for the help.

Amrit

Leon,
Also, I want to keep my application very genuine and straightforward. I just don't want to ruin my chances.
