Reschedule for Citizenship test?

Please advise me on the following situation.

Let say, I applied for Citizenship in October, 2010, just after 1095 days passed in Canada. I never travel anywhere. If I am planning to visit my country for 2 months. What happen if I am schedule for Citizenship test. Shall I inform them ahead or ust escape the citizenship test? I dont mind if my process gets delay, but I dont want to get into a complicate situation. So, please advise me if I should travel or not.

You are supposed to inform them if you leave Canada for a long time but I've heard of people still having been scheduled for a test or oath even after notifying immigration that they would not be in Canada during that time.  You should at least have somebody pick up your mail at your house so you will know if they sent you a notice to appear and can let them know if you can't come.

If you are asked to appear for a test and have a good reason why you can't go like being in another country for example, you can ask for another date but they will decide when the other date will be and similarly ask you to appear on relatively short notice, maybe a couple of weeks before.  The new test date might not be any time soon, I have heard of people doing this and not being asked to appear until up to a year later.

Lets say you take this citizenship ceremony a little bit seriously that way you dont have to get into the complicated situation of rescheduling the test. Once you get your passport the world is yours and you can travel anywhere anytime you want
