Request for RCMP Certificate

Thanks in advance for any replies. I appreciate your advice and time.

I applied to Buffalo in Sept. 2007 for PR under Skilled Worker. I received AOR on 16 November 2007. I submitted Police Clearance Certificates for myself and my husband with the application but today we received a letter requesting RCMP Certificate for my husband only. Is it unusual that Buffalo has only requested his and not mine? (I am the principal applicant).

Is this letter considered the IA or does that come after they receive the RCMP Certs? Is it also possible to get a letter of refusal after this stage?

Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and a Happy New Year to all!!!

Hello to all. I got the following information from PMM so I decided to share it with everyone who may have been curious about the situation.
Thank you much PMM.

1. Not unusual, someone with a similar name and age has a criminal
record in Canada when they did the name check, so they want prints to
ensure that it not your spouse.
2. It is not the IA, and yes you can be refused up to the point of
"landing"
